Dräger Oral Presentation Prize

The authors of the six highest-scoring abstracts in the preliminary review are invited to present their work in the oral presentation session and will be eligible for the Dräger Oral Presentation Prize. A cash prize will be awarded to the winner.

Dräger Case Presentation Prize

Trainees are asked to submit an abstract of an interesting case that they have been involved in, and which has learning points that may aid other anaesthetists in their management of similar cases. The three best submissions as judged in the preliminary review will be invited to present their work as an oral presentation at the ASM and the audience asked to vote for their favourite. A cash prize will be awarded to the winner.

The authors of the six highest-scoring abstracts and the three highest scoring case report abstracts in the preliminary review will present their work in the oral presentation session on Thursday 5 July 2018 1345-1515.

The remaining successful authors will be invited to display a poster of their work during the meeting. Entries have been allocated into one of the following categories depending on the grade of the presenting author: Medical students, Foundation Year Trainees, Core Trainees, ST3/ST4 or ST5+.

The next top 10 scoring abstracts in each category will be invited to present their work during the facilitated poster discussion sessions. A list of successful shortlisted posters will announced ahead of the meeting, please note that only shortlisted posters will be discussed during the meeting.

·         Shortlisted Medical student and Foundation year facilitated poster discussion sessions – Wednesday 4 July 2018 1530 – 1645 (Dee Room)

·         Shortlisted Core Trainee, ST3/ST4 and ST5+ facilitated poster discussion sessions – Thursday 5 July 2018 0900 – 1030 (Ballroom 1)

Poster information

Posters should be portrait orientation and no bigger than A1 size (single sheet of paper/fabric 59.4cm x 84cm). Any posters that do not meet the criteria will not be displayed.  We require all posters to be displayed for the duration of the meeting and therefore ask you to arrive at the start of the meeting, i.e. between 12:30-13:15 on Wednesday 4 July, to set up your poster (or check it if pre-delivered).

All accepted abstracts will be published in Anaesthesia in the form of a fully referenceable online supplement.
